Here at Doheny we are proud of the fact we have the only full scale aquarium in the California State Park System. Although we are relatively small, we try to exhibit a large variety of local sea life.

On this page you will find plants and animals found along this coastline, many of which are on display in our aquariums. If you would like to have a better view of any of the photos in a larger size or learn more about it, simply click on the photo.

Please remember that while at Doheny the Northern portion of the beach is a Marine Wildlife Refuge. This means that all plant and animal life is protected; even shells and rocks are to be left for all to enjoy. And if you are exploring our tide pools and turn over any rocks, please replace them where you found them. The animals living there depend on it!
