Saturday, the 22nd is our Native Plant Planting Day and is made possible through a generous Earth Day grant from the California State Parks Foundation. Our focus this year will be weed/non-native plant removal and re-planting with an assortment of native plants and shrubs in Doheny campground. MEETING LOCATION: Project meets at the Campfire Center (northwest corner of the campground). Best parking location would be in the main parking lot in the area closest to San Juan Creek, then walk across the bridge. Gate to Campfire Center will be open for easy access. PROJECT TIME FRAME: 9 AM – Noon. What to Bring: Your favorite shovel if planting and some type of work/gardening gloves and a drink container that can be re-filled at the water station. Final Note: Be certain to identify yourselves at the entry kiosk as volunteers to receive a complimentary vehicle entrance/parking pass for hours of both project dates (free parking until 12:30 PM).
